Nature Guides Refresher’s Training in Kuno

From 23rd to 25th September 2025, a three-day refresher Nature Guide Training was conducted at the Eco Centre, Sesaipura in Kuno National Park.

Supported by Dalmia Charitable Trust, the training brought together 18 participants and was led by trainer and naturalist Pranad Patil. The programme was designed to strengthen both ecological understanding and practical guiding skills through a mix of classroom sessions and field-based learning.

Participants engaged in hands-on exercises covering wildlife identification, animal behaviour, habitat interpretation, and key principles of environmental conservation. Special emphasis was placed on developing effective communication and guiding techniques—enabling participants to confidently lead visitors while sharing accurate and engaging information about the landscape.

The training also provided opportunities for participants to practice real-time guiding scenarios, helping them build confidence in interacting with tourists and interpreting on-ground sightings and signs.

This capacity-building initiative aims to enhance livelihood opportunities for local youth by preparing them for roles as nature guides in the Kuno landscape. By equipping participants with both knowledge and practical skills, the programme contributes to strengthening ecotourism while fostering a community of informed local stakeholders actively supporting conservation efforts.
