A total number of 250 families were provided relief in the past few months with regard to food supplies which included salt, wheat, rice and pulses, and amenities like soaps in the villages of Gandhigram, Mahuakheda, Shahnagar, Bhadanpur, Muharba and Ranipur.
This wouldn’t been possible without the constant support of our donors and lodge owners who have believed in our work and provided timely and crucial help.
A big shout out to the Forest Department and the Gram Panchayats of the villages who helped in the distribution and smooth execution of this initiative.
The recipients are people who live on the fringes of the forest and were significantly hit due to the absence of tourism and inability to travel outside to earn a livelihood. By providing this relief, our fantastic donors have not only lent support to the people who form the backbone of our conservation movement, but also helped secure the future of the forests, by securing it’s people.
We will continue accepting funds to help provide safe & sustainable living for the communities who are dependent on the forest in these challenging times. If you would like to contribute to this cause, kindly write into us at – conservation@thelastwilderness.org
